Ever wanted to re-install Windows 10? With our step-by-step guide we\u00a0will\u00a0explain you how to do this all by yourself. A Windows 10 (re)installation\u00a0might be necessary when you’re experiencing booting errors or if you purchased a Ockel device without operating system. You\u2019ll need a Windows PC with Internet connection, a USB Flash Drive with at least 8GB of free storage (and no other data on the flash drive) and a Sirius B<\/a> connected with a keyboard and mouse in order to complete this guide.<\/p>\n

The four steps you\u2019ll have to take:<\/strong><\/h4>\n

Step 1: Create a Bootable USB Flash Drive
\nStep 2: Boot your Ockel into UEFI-mode
\nStep 3: Install Windows 10
\nStep 4: Configure Windows 10<\/p>\n

Step 1. Create a bootable USB Flash Drive<\/h4>\n

In order to create a bootable USB Flash Drive you\u2019ll need a USB Flash Drive (also commonly knows as USB stick) with at least 8GB of free storage.
\nPlease make sure to back-up all files before creating the bootable USB Flash Drive. All of the existing data on the USB Flash drive will be erased and can no longer be accessed after that.
\nSecondly, you need a PC running Windows 8.1 or higher to download the required files and create the bootable USB Flash Drive.
\nWhen you\u2019ve backed-up the data of your USB Flash Drive and started your Windows PC, \u2014you\u2019re all set to create the bootable USB Flash Drive with the following steps:<\/p>\n

Step 1. Open up your favorite browser (we recommend you to use Internet Explorer 10+<\/a>)
\nStep 2. Type in the following URL: www.microsoft.com\/software-download\/windows10
\n<\/a>Step 3. Scroll down until you notice the title: \u2018Need to create a USB, DVD or ISO?\u2019<\/p>\n

Step 4. Click on the blue button \u2018Download Tool now\u2019\u2019
\nStep 5. Your download will automatically begin
\nStep 6. When the download is finished, please open up the .exe or choose to \u2018run\u2019 the downloaded file
\nStep 7. The tool will need a few seconds to set things up. When finished initializing the following screen will pop-up:<\/p>\n

Step 8. Choose the option \u2018\u2019Create installation media for another PC\u2019\u2019 and click \u2018Next\u2019
\nStep 9. Next you\u2019ll need to select your language, architecture and edition. Please make sure to select your desired language, Windows 10 (or Windows 10 home) and the 32BIT architecture if you have a Sirius B (for Sirius B Black Cherry users we\u2019d recommend to choose the 64BIT version<\/a>) and click \u2018Next.\u2019<\/p>\n

Step 10. The following screen will show up, this step may take a few minutes:<\/p>\n

Step 11. Next you\u2019ll have to choose which media to use. Please select the \u2018\u2019USB Flash Drive\u2019\u2019 option and click \u2018Next\u2019.<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/p>\n

Step 12. Now you will have to select a USB Flash Drive. If you haven\u2019t already plugged in a USB Flash Drive you should do by now. Once plugged in, select the option \u2018Refresh drive list\u2019 and select the USB Flash Drive you\u2019d wish to install the Windows onto and click \u2018Next\u2019.
\nPlease make sure to back-up all files stored on the USB Flash Drive before you click \u2018Next. All of the existing data on the USB Flash drive will be erased once you complete this step.<\/p>\n

Step 13. Windows 10 will now be downloaded. Once downloaded the files are automatically installed on your USB Flash Drive. This may take up to two hours, depending on your Internet and USB Flash Drive speed. please do not turn off your PC during this process as this may cause errors.<\/p>\n

Step 14. Once the download and installation process is finished, you and your USB Flash Drive.<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/p>\n

Step 2: Boot your Ockel into UEFI-mode<\/strong><\/h4>\n

Your Ockel device has to know that you\u2019re about to (re)install Windows. In this step we\u2019ll explain you how you\u2019re able to do this.<\/p>\n

Step 1.<\/strong> Connect your Ockel device to a screen and power outlet
\nStep 2.<\/strong> Connect a USB keyboard <\/strong>to your Ockel device
\nStep 3.<\/strong> Connect the Bootable USB Flash Drive you\u2019ve created in step 2 of this How-to to your Ockel device.
\nStep 4.<\/strong> Press the power-on button of your Ockel device and immediately and repeatedly <\/strong>press the \u2018F7\u2019 function key on your USB keyboard
\n<\/strong>Step 5.<\/strong> The following screen will show up:<\/p>\n

Step 6.<\/strong> Use the arrow keys on your keyboard to navigate through the menu
\nStep 7.\u00a0<\/strong>Select the UEFI: <Flash Drive Name> (in our case: Verbatim)<\/em> line and press enter<\/p>\n

Step 3: Install Windows 10<\/strong><\/h4>\n

You\u2019re now ready to install Windows 10 onto your Ockel device. The following steps help you decide which options you should choose during the installation process.
\nPlease note the installation may take up to one hour to complete. Make sure your Ockel device, USB Flash drive and monitor are connected correctly during the entire installation and do not power off or disconnect your Ockel device<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Step 1.<\/strong> After selecting the right UEFI-line in the boot menu it will take a few seconds for the following screen to show up:<\/p>\n

Step 2.<\/strong> Select the desired Language to install, your Timezone and Keyboard input method
\nStep 3.<\/strong> The next window will show up, click on the \u2018\u2019Install now\u2019\u2019 button in order to proceed with the installation<\/p>\n

Step 4.<\/strong> In this step you\u2019ll have to choose between \u2018Upgrade\u2019 and \u2018Custom\u2019 installation. Choose the \u2018Upgrade\u2019 option for your License key to stay valid.<\/em><\/strong> If you have purchased a Ockel without a\u00a0license key, you may choose the \u2018Custom\u2019 option instead<\/p>\n

Step 5.<\/strong> Select the partition (in this case Drive 0) you want to install Windows on and click \u2018Next\u2019
\nStep 6.<\/strong> The installation of Windows will now begin. This may take up to a hour to finish. Once finished you\u2019re ready for the final step, configuring Windows.<\/p>\n

Step 4: Configure Windows 10<\/strong><\/h3>\n

Once the installation is finished you may configure Windows. We\u2019ll explain the most important steps you\u2019ll have to take in order to configure Windows 10 the right way.<\/p>\n

Step 1. <\/strong>The first configuration screen you\u2019ll notice is the \u2018Settings\u2019 screen. Choose the \u2018Express settings\u2019 option if you do not want to change any pre-configured settings. If you do want to change the pre-configured settings, choose the option \u2018\u2019Customize\u2019\u2019<\/p>\n

Step 2. <\/strong>Microsoft will ask you to sign in to your Microsoft account. You can enter your account credentials and click \u2018Next\u2019. If you do not have an account yet, you may create one by clicking the option \u2018\u2019Create a new account\u2019\u2019. If you wish to skip this step, simply click \u2018Next\u2019.<\/p>\n
