The Ockel Sirius A in action

By Jesper — August 7th, 2017

It has been a pleasure playing and working with the Ockel Sirius A prototype so far. All functionalities are up and running and we already started testing some of the most requested features from all of our backers. For example, the dual monitor set-up (which is working flawlessly). But also, specific Windows Hello and Cortana functionality tests.

We decided to create a new, yet short, movie showing some of the features of the Ockel Sirius A. (Notice how amazingly fast the fingerprint scanner responds to Jan Paul’s finger…)

The testing phase of the current prototype will continue in the next few weeks. Tweaks and adjustments that we believe to be necessary will automatically be included in the next prototype. This will be the so-called PVT prototype (also referred to as the Golden Sample). In the next few weeks we update you about the progress of building the (final) prototype!

Certification tests
This week we’ll prepare all tests at the Philips Innovation Lab facilities. Together with Philips we’ll test the electric circuit of the Ockel Sirius A and Sirius A Pro. We will also execute a so-called ‘Surge test’. In other words: We’ll push a Sirius A prototype to the maximum, to learn from the ‘break’ points. The test results will be available one week after the tests have been executed. Once we start the tests at the Philips Innovation Lab facilities we’ll share more details.
